Our Story

​As more and more families are being encouraged to step into orphan care, foster care, and adoption; the vast majority of them are not prepared or equipped for the support they need to sustain this calling. 

After Jason & Cheryl Bentsen adopted their son, it sparked a desire to help other families navigate and afford their adoption. God used that desire and began to mold it and shape it into a vision for supporting families who answer the call to foster or adopt.  

Our vision is anchored by the words of John, a disciple of Jesus, found in 1 John 3:18 “Dear children, let’s not merely say that we love each other; let us show the truth by our actions.” 

Love Moves Us to:

• Move Families to Flourish

Foster & adoptive families often struggle with issues biological families don’t deal with. By providing monthly support groups, respite events, and service projects through church partnerships, these families can forge strong relationships & flourish! 

• Move Children to Connect

When children connect with other children & families that look like theirs, they develop a strong, healthy identity that equips them to be emotionally strong, self-assured, and able to deal with the challenges and difficulties that lie ahead.

• Move People to Love

​Not everyone can foster or adopt, but everyone can support those who do.  Individuals can serve & support foster & adoptive families in their community & show them the love of Christ.

LoveMoves.Us Family Gatherings (groups) are started by families who foster or adopt children.

Our group leaders will be the first to tell you that their lives aren't perfect. They have a lot on their plates. Some have 6 kids. Some have kids with special needs. Some have kids that are grown and out of the house! Most still struggle with parenting and their kids' behaviors. They still have activities and therapist appointments to go to. They all hold one thing in common.

They wanted to see a group in their area that provided community, encouragement and support for themselves and other families who foster or adopt.

  • Group leader & volunteer training. Coaching & help when you need it. Best practices, feedback & troubleshooting.

  • Adult group curriculum, children’s group curriculum and activities.

  • Never have to worry about getting people to sign up.
• Background Checks
  • Keep kids safe by making sure every volunteer is background checked.

  • All done on our end. We market, email, communicate, handle registration & thank you notes.
