We can't serve and support families without volunteers.
Not everyone can foster or adopt a child, but everyone can do something.
Get involved in the mission of bringing community, encouragement, & support to families who foster or adopt vulnerable children.

Because volunteers & the people we care for are important to us, we have a screening process that includes a background check. 
Children's Program Volunteer
Do you have a love for children & a heart for foster care/adoption? Do you want to help a child learn to trust safe adults? Are you a big kid at heart & love to have fun?

Our Children's Program goes way beyond childcare.  By serving on our Children's Programming Team, you serve families who foster or adopt in two ways:
  • You empower families to flourish! 
    • Parents find community by connecting with other parents who foster or adopt.
    • This provides encouragement and support & an opportunity to be prayed for.
    • You also give them a much needed, restful break from parenting and a chance to learn specialized parenting tools.
  • You create a space for children to connect with their peers.
    • Whether it's the bond of both being adopted, or being adopted by parents of a different race, or being in foster care, this time helps them develop a strong, healthy identity; and gives them a place to belong.
    • Adult adoptees have said they wished they something like this when they were kids!
    • When they build a healthy emotional connection with safe adults, research shows their brain chemistry changes & promotes healing from trauma they have experienced in life. 
​Our background-checked volunteers build relationships & play with the children while the adults meet together once a month during our Family Gatherings. A love for children is a must. Kindness, compassion, patience & understanding are also required.

Have you ever wondered how you could serve & support a family who fosters or has adopted in a meaningful way? Have you ever said, "Let me know if you need anything?" but you weren't really sure what to do & you never got an answer on how to help?

We have the answer!  

Families that open their home to vulnerable children welcome in a unique set of challenges as they work to provide healing for the children in their care.  They need support & a reminder that THEY ARE NOT ALONE. Families need LOVE not just in words but in ACTION.  ​

​Through our Families Serving Families program, you will be matched with a family in your area to provide simple encouragement each month.  
  • ​Provide one porch drop-off each month. (a fun basket of snacks, pizza delivery or a gift card for a special family treat)
  • Send a few texts during the month to pray for & encourage your matched family​.
    ​​
Families Serving Families is flexible way to support families based on your schedule & how you are gifted to serve them.  We provide reminders & ideas on how to serve your matched family each month.  You never know when a text from you or a package on their porch will be the bright spot in their week; giving them the extra push to make it through the hard days. 
Be a host home
Do you love having people over? Do you like to entertain? Are you hospitable & look forward to making people feel welcome?

Serve families who foster or adopt by opening your home once a month for a Family Gathering.  By providing a warm & welcoming environment, families will find a safe place to recharge & connect with others who understand the unique challenges they face.  

You won't lead anything. Simply open your home & play host for the evening. 

We need homes which can accommodate adults in one area & kids in another (i.e.. parents upstairs & children in the basement or outside as weather permits).
Bring a family gathering to your area
Do you have experience in the world of adoption and/or foster care? Do you want to help families find community, encouragement & support? 

More groups are needed in more locations to serve more families....so every family who fosters or adopts will have the community, encouragement and support they need to flourish!

People who are willing to walk alongside those who are opening up their homes to vulnerable children are needed to provide the support families are longing for. We provide you with a community, support, and coaching so you can lead your Family Gathering well. We'll take care of the monthly curriculum, supplies, meals and behind-the-scenes work (i.e. marketing, registration, follow-up communication, etc.). 

You help build community in your area, facilitate the discussion, & organize volunteer participation.
