The past few days I’ve been asking myself: If someone asks you if they should jump into foster care, what would you say? Why on earth would you tell someone to go through the same stress and pure craziness?
As I thought about my answers to those questions, God, in His divine power, reminded me of how He has shown up every step of the way and that there is beauty - I just need to look for it.
There’s beauty in the friends that don’t judge me when I have no words - only stupid gifs to share over text.
There’s beauty in the countless ways long distance friends from all over the country listen to His prompting to shoot me a text or a call at just the right time.
Let’s face it - there’s beauty when they all get on the school bus in the morning!
There’s beauty when my kids laugh and wrestle (for the first 5 minutes then it gets crazy).
There’s even beauty when they make fun of me for the 100th time because I got the movie quote wrong.
There’s beauty in the community He has built through LoveMovesUs for us. I am only a phone call away from so many that understand the challenges we face (and sometimes they even have the phone number for the person you really need to talk to).
There’s beauty when a friend from high school gathers her neighbors to mail us a huge box of clothes.
There’s beauty in family members from all over the country that deliver lunches, dinners &/or coffee during those really rough weeks, shower my kids with love and who pray constantly!
There’s beauty when the medication actually gets refilled on time with only 1 phone call.
There’s beauty because in the midst of the really, really hard parts, He is there. We just have to be willing to look for Him.
