Why is it important to create a community for people who foster or adopt to find encouragement and support? Kim & Dirk recently drove more than an hour to get to one of our Family Gatherings. Being working parents with Kim working overnights is already a challenge. Add in 3 kids – ages 3, 2 and 1 (1 in foster care), no family in the area to help, and parenting becomes even more challenging. They have looked to their church to help with finding trustworthy, reliable people to help care for their children; but as is often the case, most people pat them on the |
When you give to LoveMoves.Us, you create that space for people to gather. You create a place where adoption and foster care are normalized – where no one blinks twice at the fact that you are black, and your parents are white.
One donor recently told me “The work you’re doing is so important.”
This meets one of the biggest needs of all the families we serve! The mother in the family who will be receiving these services said, “This is an answer to prayer! I’m going to cry!”
We’re exploring opportunities to serve and support families through some new paradigms:
● Anchor Sites all over Chicagoland
● Piloting a Community Center to go deep in serving regional needs
● Providing a simple, customizable blueprint to starting more Family Gatherings
● Partnering with therapists to serve children at Family Gatherings
$35,000 IN DONATIONS WILL BE MATCHED
